ABOUT US

I'm George the girl, 30-Something mom to a 12 year old son, "The Monkey" and a 7 year old daughter, "The Monster".  Names have of course been changed to protect the heathens innocent.  I read, I love wine, cold beer, and I work too much.  Except around my house.  I curse like a sailor, and try to teach my kids to at least only do so themselves in private.  I hate alarm clocks, I love getting organized (just not staying that way) and watching my kids play from a safe distance while FINALLY getting some me time with my kindle.  Don't talk to me before my morning coffee and we'll get along just fine. 

The Monkey loves video games more than anything most things, although he can be bothered to turn them off for a good book.  He's great around the house, does a mean load of laundry (glad someone around here does) and has all kind of handy tricks that should one day make my future daughter in law love me.  He's quirky and considerate, full of useless fascinating trivia, and just fun to have around. 

The Monster is everything my mother always wished on me.  Opinionated, moody, and very verbal about her feelings.  She's my little mini me!   With a style all her own and a stubborn streak a mile wide, she's a walking, talking lesson in patience.  She's also adorable, impossible to stay angry with, and full of stories and creative ideas.  

The Husbeast is a grumpy old man in a 30-something body.  Despite snark and grumbles, he's genuinely the most supportive person I've ever known.  Begrudgingly handing over his credit card so I can order more supplies.   Tuning out the noise while we take on some new project in "school".  Only fussing a little that the house is messier when he gets home than it was when he left.  He cheers on his kids, listens while I bitch, and just makes my life better by being in it.  Also, he reminds me to shower, and restock my coffee.  Good man.
